Its better to buy a small bouquet,

And give it to a girl every day,

Than a bunch of roses white and red,

To be laid on her grave after she's dead.

I wish my roses had been more red,

To keep her far enough from Ted,

That bastard Ted was using my bed,

The day I saw them still I dread,
